Welcome! My name is Carin and I have been working with people to meet their goals for more than two decades. I believe in the capacity of the human spirit to grow and to thrive. Experiencing painful feelings and behaviors, while difficult, can be an empowering catalyst for change and growth. Your decision to enter therapy is a momentous choice for your own health and healing. My goal is to teach you concrete skills and strategies to help you meet life’s challenges. As a therapist, I hope to balance compassionate listening with collaborative problem solving.
I obtained my Masters in Social Work from UMAB in 1994 and have been trained in mind-body techniques, solution focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive restructuring and other brain-based techniques to help navigate depression, anxiety, chronic pain and major life changes. I have practiced yoga and meditation for more than 30 years, and am very interested in how the latest brain research validates these ancient tools. In addition, I hold a Masters of Education and a two-year degree in therapeutic bodywork.
