Veronica Altvater, LCPC

Reaching out to begin counseling takes courage and it shows a desire for understanding and a hope for change. I provide unconditional positive regard and respect in a comfortable atmosphere. My therapeutic approach blends different modalities and is tailored to meet your unique needs (e.g., CBT, Solution Focused Therapy). The goal of my Interpersonal Counseling style is to help clients identify and resolve problems with insight and gain self awareness and achieve their personal goals.

I have helped clients cope with life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, gender identity issues, family stress, and relational issues. I enjoy working with adults, older adolescents, couples and families and help them achieve their personal goals. I will provide support and guidance but also challenge you to take the risks that lead to personal change and a more fulfilling and happy life. I received my degree and training from Johns Hopkins University and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I am a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) and a member of the American Counseling Association. I have over 20 years of experience as a counselor in a variety of settings. In addition, I am an Expert Witness on the issue of Bullying and Harassment and have a strong background in public education policies.
