Being a modern human – especially in relationships with other humans – is complex! I believe we can all benefit from counseling no matter what we are experiencing. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and intelligent space to support a client’s healing and growth by using a combination of talk therapy and therapy that teaches tools for retraining the brain and calming the body. I work with teenagers and adults dealing with a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, addiction, and low self-esteem. Other clients come to therapy because they need support in navigating developmental life concerns such as parenting or aging. Still others come to process past experiences or current stresses. My general approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, compassionate, and collaborative. I draw on a few different therapeutic models that include person-centered therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and narrative therapy. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship, in the hope that happens in the therapy room when therapist and client join together to take on whatever the reasons that sparked the client to seek help. Counseling is life-changing!
